Looking back at 2009 we never would have believed the changes that the Lord had in store for us! Sounds cliché I know, but who would have thought way back in January that we’d pack up our lives, give away most of our stuff, leave behind our church of 25 years, and move 1200 miles to the middle of the US?
Doors began to open and others began to shut and here we are in Kansas City (where you can leave your ice cream out on the back porch in the winter if your freezer is too full! I’ll let you know about summer later)
Bruce and I are staying with Zack and Carrie as Bruce looks for work here. It is a delight to watch them parent Natalie (5 mo.) And Sarah just lives a couple miles away with her roommates. Our children are all on staff with the International House of Prayer (also our new home church.)
The Lord has really been moving on the hearts of young adults from all walks of life here; many have been healed physically and emotionally. This has resulted in a great faith and compassion for sharing Gods love with others. While we deeply miss you-our friends and family support in Arizona- we are starting to find our places here.
Ministry Update:
TURKEY- My main focus of ministry for this season is as an associate of the International Turkey Network (ITN) and I will concentrate on prayer in and for the nation of Turkey. I just returned from a successful trip to Turkey to help plan an International gathering in Ephesus May 2010 during the Global Day of Prayer. It was good to meet and encourage some new connections and revisit old ones. There are some wonderful Pastors and intercessors in this land!
ITN will help to set up regular prayer communications for the leaders in Turkey and for those interested in praying for Turkey. We feel that it is a key time to press in and pray for breakthrough in this key nation. I am returning to Turkey on New Years Day to attend a prayer gathering in Antioch and to meet and network with prayer leaders in country. I will be leading a prayer team in May around Turkey so let me know if you are interested.
KANSAS CITY -Many opportunities are opening up in KC. Bruce and I know that we are called to father/mother young adults, the need is great. I am also connecting with Native American community and looking forward to meeting more natives in the area. Bruce and I both are starting involvement in an inner city outreach with our church. We have been able to make connections with the city-wide prayer movement here as well and are excited about having new land to pray over!
Our prayer is for God’s glory to shine in you and flow out of you this coming year! John 17 Merry Christmas & Blessings on the New Year! Please keep us in prayer as we navigate the changes. Specific requests are:
- Anita's trip to Turkey Jan1st to 20th - good communication, safe travel, wisdom, and favor.
- Bruce's job search
- Wisdom and discernment for ministry involvement here in KC and Turkey
- Continued good health
- Our transition to Midwest living and a place to live
